The 2015 Annual Gala Affair–Swinging London was an amazing success all the way around!  With over 300 guests, it was the largest event ever!

‘The Britins’, America’s premier Beatles Tribute band had nearly everyone on the dance floor or singing along.  From their replica costumes, hair and accents, they did not disappoint.

Mary Ross won the $2,500 Vacation Package voucher through Rentz Travel in Morris and  Rita Grabow won the pair of tickets to see Chanhassen Dinner Theatre’s production of Mary Poppins donated by Big Stone Radio.

The buffet dinner of Prime Rib and Stuffed Pork Loin received rave reviews and the Red Velvet Union Jack cakes created  by Alicia Wilcox were a hit with everyone.

Thanks to our sponsors, our donors, and everyone who helped make this year’s event one for the books!

RademachersTickets to win at $2,500 Vacation Getaway through Rentz Travel in Morris are on sale now from Gala Committee members and at the BSHCF offices located in the Dialysis Building. They are $10 each and you need not be present to win! Drawing will be held at the Gala on Saturday, April 25 at Sioux Historic Pavilion in Ortonville. There’s still time to make your reservations–click here to reserve on line or call the Foundation office at 320-839-4135.

After winning the vacation voucher, Redgey and I spent a lot of time thinking and dreaming and studying a map trying to decide where we wanted to go.  After much discussion, we decided to takt the whole family to Disney World.  Anita Longnecker was great to work with.  She knew everything i needed to know and if she didn’t, she made sure to find out.  She was very patient and worked with us to make sure everything was arranged just right.  We had a wonderful trip and I think the adults loved it as much as the kids.  Thank you to the Big Stone Health Care Foundation for helping me take my family on a trip of a lifetime!

22nd Annual Gala Affair

Posted on Updated on

2015GalaInviteThe 22nd Annual Gala Affair–“Swinging London” is set for April 25, 2015.  The sights and sounds of London of the 60s will come alive at Sioux Historic Pavilion in Ortonville, MN.  Social Hour begins at 5:30 with complimentary lagers, ciders, wines, pub grub and a D.I.Y. Photo Booth.  Special thanks to Ortonville Hardware Hank and ProImage Partners for helping us bring you there!

The buffet meal will begin at 7:00 and will feature Prime Rib served with Au Jus and a Horseradish Sauce, Stuffed Pork Loin with Ale Sauce, Herbed Roasted Baby Red Potatoes, Baby Dilled Carrots, Green Beans Almandine.  Dessert will be fabulous as well–each table will have it’s own Red Velvet Union Jack Cake baked by idreamCakes  of Madison.

Raffle tickets will be on sale for a $2,500 Vacation Getaway which will be drawn for that evening.  Tickets will be $10 each and will be on sale soon.

During the evening’s program, a short video produced by Lee & Jeanie Kanten will be presented–a true testimonial to how the Big Stone Health Care Foundation has had an impact on the people of the Ortonville area.

The big ‘shoe’ (Ed Sullivan–kids, look him up!) of the evening is the group who started the British Invasion here in the states–the Beatles–as performed by The BriTins!  The Britins were formed in 1977 – making them one of the first Beatles tribute bands in the United States. Based in the Milwaukee, WI area, the group’s popularity had them touring in over 250+ shows per year throughout North America. The group has shared the stage with many performers, including Hermans Hermits, Turtles, Grass Roots, Buckinghams, Tommy James, and Frankie Valli. The Britins perform the top Beatles hits and album cuts from every ‘Beatles’ album. Their respect for authenticity to the Fab Four is their top priority and it shows through their unique replications of costumes and suits originally worn by The Beatles.

Invitations will be in the mail next week, but reservations can be made now by calling Sally at 320-839-4135; Megan at 320-839-4194 or emailing Sally.Rakow@oahs.us or Megan.Grabow@oahs.us.  On-line registration will be offered soon, but on-line payment is available now.   Cost is $50 per reservation which includes Social Hour, buffet, entertainment, tax and gratuity.  All proceeds benefit the Big Stone Health Care Foundation in its mission to secure funds for the maintenance and expansion of health care for the people of the Ortonville area.

The Gala Committee consists of Barb Ash, Michelle Botker, Megan Grabow, Kristi Delage, Marilyn Hanson, Patty Haukos, Cheryl Hausauer, Hillary Henrich, Patti Holtquist, Kristi Ninneman, Lisa Ross, Mary Ross, April Staehling, Jayne Stecker, Heather Tietjen, Sarah Tollackson, Cindy VanDover and Barb Voecks.
