Volunteers & Opportunities

The word ‘foundation’ means basis, which to us, is synonymous with ‘volunteers.’  The dictionary might not agree with that, but along with our donors and contributors, volunteers form the basis of the Big Stone Health Care Foundation.

“How wonderful that no one need wait a single moment to improve the world.”

 –Anne Frank

Our mission to provide quality health care to the surrounding area simply could not be accomplished without the many hours put in by our volunteers.  Whether they are serving on the Board of Directors, helping to mail out brochures, on a committee, performing clerical tasks or promoting the Foundation, we count on our volunteers’ talents and generosity and consider them a major factor in bringing about our goals.

There are many ways you can volunteer your time to the Big Stone Health Care Foundation. Whether you are interested in:

  • Clerical Work–the Foundation office is always looking for organized and conscientious volunteers to process donations, enter database information and the correspondence of day to day operations.
  • Special Event planning–the Gala and Oak Tree Committees both welcome new members. The Gala Committee typically meets once a month December through April and the Oak Tree Committee meets once a month May through September. Committee meetings are working lunch meetings.
  • Mailings–these groups usually get together to assemble mailing pieces such as event invitations or newsletter mailings. Dates vary so continue to check the website for availability.
