Giving

“Vision without action is merely a dream.  Action without vision just passes the time.  Vision with action can change the world.”

-Joel A. Barker

People give for many different reasons.  At the Big Stone Health Care Foundation, we believe that giving is a two-way commitment…

Our Commitment to our community…

To help, with proper support, to ensure the continuation of the hospital, nursing home and other health care needs of the area.

To build and manage an Endowment Fund, using the interest for various health care needs, including scholarships, doctor recruitment, and continuing education.

To encourage people to consider remembering their community needs in financial and estate planning.

 Your Commitment to your community…

Remember The Big Stone Health Care Foundation in your annual giving and estate planning. Your gift of $1,000 or more will be recognized on the Tree of Life located in the Ortonville Hospital across from the Little Acorn Gift Shop.

Time spent planning what to give, when to give and how to give will help you to decide how much to give.  Ask yourself these questions:

Gifts of Cash – Charitable gifts are most often made in the form of cash and checks.

Gifts of Securities – You can realize tax savings when making gifts of stocks, bond and/or mutual funds in the right way.

Gifts of Other Assets – Assets from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), Real Estate and other property may benefit your tax situation.

Life Income Gifts – Methods are available that allow you to transfer assets while receiving income for life for you and/or others and other financial benefits.

Gifts of Life Insurance – An excellent option when the policies are no longer needed for payment of estate taxes or other needs.

Bequest Gifts – Gifts can be directed through a will. This can be a specific amount, a percentage or remainder of your estate or can be arranged through different types of trusts.

Planned Giving or bequest gifts can be a surprisingly simple way to give.  Plan well in order to not jeopardize your financial well-being and that of your loved ones and yet benefit you tax-wise. Work closely with your attorney or other planners to determine what is best for you. These are just a few ideas to assist you with your gift planning. For more information speak with your attorney or financial planner.
Giving to Big Stone Health Care Foundation with money or time helps ensure high quality local health care for the next generation. Whether you grew up in the Ortonville area, have parents who live here or plan on retiring her, when you give, that money goes toward scholarships and physician recruitment. It helps increase the services and specialists who come to Ortonville Area Health Services, making our community a healthier, better place.
When you give, you become part of the mission that brings about changes that matter most to where we and our loved ones live.
