Once again the weather did not disappoint the 35 teams that played in the Big Stone Health Care Foundation’s 24th Annual Oak Tree Classic Golf tournament which was Saturday, September 12 at the Ortonville Golf Course.

Family and friends were the theme of the day.  Dan, Luke and Karina Kafka’s score of 55.4 gave them first place.  The second place team was new to the tournament—husband and wife Troy and Angela Olson and Justin Monson—their score was a 56 and third place went to Matt Karels, Andy Karels and Luke DeVos with a score of 56.1.

The Best All Woman team prize of gift baskets donated by Ranet Schmeichel went to the team of Ranet Schmeichel, Liz Sorenson and Mary Weber.   Second to the last place honors went to Rochelle Reede, Lois Banken and Becky Ash.  They each awarded Oak Tree themed wood items made and donated by Wade Swezey.

Bill Vangsness won the top raffle prize which was an Oak Tree Classic EZ Go Electric Golf Car.  Oliver Zinski won the handmade Men’s Golf Clubs with a stand-up bag and Audrey Tobin, Arvin Mueller, Jacob Bollman and  won Kristine Meyer won the cash prizes of $200, $100$50  and$50.

Challenges and games of chance out on the course are a fun part of the Oak Tree Classic and several golfers won prizes:   Nick Giese had the longest drive for men on Hole 7, Liz Sorenson had the longest drive for women on Hole 4, Randy Schoon had the longest putt on Hole 3 and Jacob Bollman was closest to the pin on Hole 6.  Each of those golfers received an Oak Tree Classic Jacket.  Other Game winners include Isaiah Longnecker who won $185 for the longest Marshmallow Drive—Tom  Roscoe received a dozen golf balls from RBC Wealth Management just for trying the game,  $175 went to Brenna Rausch which was half the pot on the “Between the Sheets” game on Hole #2, Scott Simonitch won half the pot ($245) on the “50/50” card game, Mike Swenson won a cooler full of goodies from Eide Bailly on Hole #6, and Dr. Greg Peterson won the Shotgun donated by Diane & Brad Rieck in memory of Ed Kiernat on Hole #17.  Wheel of Fortune winners on Hole #6 include:  Sue Rausch, Jacob Bollman and Liz Sorenson
