Brittany Backer is the CGB High School recipient for one of the Big Stone Health Care Foundation’s $1,000 scholarships. Brittany plans to attend North Dakota State University this fall to pursue a degree in pharmacy. She will participate in their two year Pre-Pharmacy program, which has the pototential to include taking classes in the summer of 2016. Brittany will also have to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences before she can be admitted into their Pharmacy program.
Acceptance into this four year graduate program is based several factors including Pre-Pharmacy curricumlum grades, a written essay and standardized tests, including a Pharmacy College Admissions Test. Most of NDSU’s accepted students score around the 60th percentile. The top candidates are invited to a day of interviews, and a critical thinking test for which students cannot prepare for.
Brittany plans to be accepted into the program and earn her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, pass her boards and practice as a registered Pharmacist.
Stephanie Arndt is a graduate of Ortonville High School. She will be attending South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD this fall where she will major in Nursing.
Stephanie says, “I’m very excited to start my career as a nurse. My career objective is to get my RN and then further my educaton to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.”
